There is a shrine in the central part of Akbar’s Mausoleum and this space is very spacious, giving the whole interior a different look. The interiors of Akbar’s Mausoleum has beautiful designs and is one of the best Mughal architecture in the country. In the central part of the monument lies the tombstone of Emperor of Akbar. There are graves of the daughters of Akbar, Aram Bano and Shakrul Nisha Begum too is there in Akbar’s Mausoleum. The second floor of Akbar’s Mausoleum is surrounded by winding corridors. The use of square and round pillars in Akbar’s Mausoleum makes this monument exceptional of all Mughal architectures.

The fifth storey in Akbar’s Mausoleum is made absolutely of white marble and the architecture will surprise many who visits here. The location of Akbar’s Mausoleum is 10 km away from Agra, in a small town called Sikandara. This building stands as an exception to all Mughal architectures, as here the Hindu and Muslim architectural style have merged with each other. The construction of Akbar’s Mausoleum was started by Akbar but he could not survive to see its completion. Akbar’s Mausoleum was completed by Jehangir in the year 1605.
